Mission Statement

The Fairfield Metropolitan Housing Authority is dedicated to serving the needs of low and moderate income families in Fairfield County and to:

  • increase the availability of decent, safe, sanitary, and affordable housing in our community;
  • ensure equal opportunity in housing;
  • promote self-sufficiency and asset development of families; and,
  • improve community-wide quality of life and economic vitality in cooperation with other agencies, developers, and individuals.

Tenant Based Rental Assistance (TBRA) is a rental subsidy program to help an eligible tenant with rent. TBRA programs directly assist individual households to make housing affordable. TBRA payments make up the difference between the amount the family can afford to pay for housing costs (rent and utilities) and the actual costs of the housing selected by the family.
