Tenant Based Rental Assistance (TBRA) is a rental subsidy program to help an eligible tenant with rent. TBRA programs directly assist individual households to make housing affordable. TBRA payments make up the difference between the amount the family can afford to pay for housing costs (rent and utilities) and the actual costs of the housing selected by the family.
